Bangkok rewards every kind of traveller. Base yourself in Sukhumvit for nightlife and BTS convenience, Riverside for luxury and views, or the Old City for temples and history. Do not miss the Grand Palace and Wat Pho at opening time, a longtail ride through the Thonburi canals, and an evening of street food in Yaowarat. Getting around is easy: the BTS Skytrain and MRT cover the modern city, river boats serve the historic west, and metered taxis and ride-hailing apps fill the gaps. The best months to visit are November to February, when the heat softens and the sky stays clear.
