# Bangkok hotels by district

124 hotels listed across 19 of the 22 districts we profile, 121 of them rated, averaging 4.4 out of 5. The nightly price band under each district was compiled 7 September 2026 from the sources at the foot of this page, and moves with the season — Songkran and the December–February peak run 40% to 100% higher. For the area that fits how you travel rather than a flat list, [where to stay in Bangkok](https://bestofthailand.org/where-to-stay) scores all 22 districts against five factors and links to six ranked pages: first-timers, families, nightlife, budget, digital nomads and couples.

## Hotels by district

### [Siam (Pathum Wan)](https://bestofthailand.org/bangkok/siam)

24 hotels listed, 24 rated, averaging 4.5 out of 5

Hostel / budget฿450–1,000

Mid-range฿1,800–4,200

Upper / luxury฿4,500–13,000

BTS Siam is the only place the Sukhumvit and Silom lines meet; Chit Lom, Ratchadamri and National Stadium are one stop out, and the skywalk over Rama I links National Stadium, MBK, Siam and CentralWorld without a road crossing.

Noise 4/5.

The catch: You pay a mall premium to sleep here: the mid-range band starts ฿600 above Ratchathewi, one BTS stop west, and the malls shut at 22:00, after which the district is eight lanes of Rama I and Ratchadamri traffic and not much else.

### [Khao San](https://bestofthailand.org/bangkok/khao-san)

20 hotels listed, 20 rated, averaging 4.5 out of 5

Hostel / budget฿200–600

Mid-range฿800–1,800

Upper / luxury฿2,500–4,500

No BTS or MRT: the nearest rail is MRT Sam Yot about 1.5 km south, and the Chao Phraya Express boat from Phra Athit pier is usually the faster way out.

Noise 5/5.

The catch: The bars on Khao San and Rambuttri run loud until 02:00, and a street-facing room here is a bad night's sleep at any price.

Hostel / budget฿300–700

Mid-range฿1,200–2,500

Upper / luxury฿3,500–8,000

BTS Ratchathewi and Phaya Thai on the Sukhumvit line, one and two stops from Siam; the Airport Rail Link stops at Ratchaprarop.

Noise 4/5.

The catch: Pratunam's pavements are wholesale clothing stalls from morning until late, so walking anywhere with a suitcase takes twice as long as the map suggests.

**[Vince Hotel Bangkok Pratunam](https://bestofthailand.org/place/vince-hotel-bangkok-pratunam-9d631e)** — ![Vince Hotel Bangkok Pratunam](https://bestofthailand.org/images/pool/cat-hotels-resorts-6.webp) — 4.7 — Hotels & Resorts · Ratchathewi & Pratunam — ฿฿฿฿KidsLGBTQ+ friendly — 26 Soi Phetchaburi 11 in Thanon Phaya Thai is the address for Vince Hotel Bangkok Pratunam, a hotel in Ratchathewi and Pratunam with free Wi-Fi and over 7,800 reviews.

### [Sukhumvit](https://bestofthailand.org/bangkok/sukhumvit)

10 hotels listed, 10 rated, averaging 4.3 out of 5

Hostel / budget฿380–900

Mid-range฿1,500–3,200

Upper / luxury฿4,500–10,000

BTS Nana, Asok, Phrom Phong and Thong Lo on the Sukhumvit line, with the MRT Blue Line interchange at Asok / Sukhumvit.

Noise 4/5.

The catch: The stretch between Nana and Asok is a red-light district after dark, which is worth knowing before booking a family room on those sois.

**[Public House Hotel Bangkok, a Member of Design Hotels](https://bestofthailand.org/place/public-house-hotel-bangkok-a-member-of-design-hotels-199158)** — ![Public House Hotel Bangkok, a Member of Design Hotels](https://bestofthailand.org/images/pool/cat-hotels-resorts-5.webp) — 4.8 — Hotels & Resorts · Sukhumvit — ฿฿฿฿LGBTQ+ friendlyFree Wi-Fi — 249 Sukhumvit 31 in Khlong Tan Nuea is the address for Public House Hotel Bangkok, a Design Hotels member with free Wi-Fi in the Sukhumvit district.

Hostel / budget฿300–700

Mid-range฿700–1,600

Upper / luxury฿2,500–6,000

BTS Wongwian Yai at the western end of the Silom line, MRT Blue Line at Itsaraphap and Tha Phra, plus cross-river ferries to the Old City.

Noise 2/5.

The catch: The west bank is spread thin, and an address that looks close to Wat Arun on a map is often a 20-minute walk from the nearest pier — check that walk before booking.

**[Feel Good Bangkok Hostel](https://bestofthailand.org/place/feel-good-bangkok-hostel-667ee4)** — ![Feel Good Bangkok Hostel](https://bestofthailand.org/images/pool/cat-hotels-resorts-4.webp) — 4.9 — Hotels & Resorts · Thonburi — ฿฿Free Wi-Fi — Arun Amarin's Soi Somdej Pra Pinklao 17 is the location of Feel Good Bangkok Hostel, a budget hostel in Thonburi with free Wi-Fi provided for every room.

Mid-range฿1,400–3,000

Upper / luxury฿4,000–9,000

BTS Sala Daeng and MRT Si Lom share the same junction — the interchange between the Silom line and the Blue Line.

Noise 4/5.

The catch: Silom runs on the office week: Patpong and Soi 4 fill every night, but the lunch shophouses and street carts that make the district thin out at the weekend.

Upper / luxury฿3,500–9,000

MRT Blue Line at Sanam Chai for Wat Pho and the Grand Palace, plus Chao Phraya Express boat stops at Tha Tien and Tha Chang.

Noise 3/5.

The catch: The Old City empties after dark — most kitchens close by 21:00, and an evening in Sukhumvit or Silom means 30–40 minutes each way.

**[Bangkok NeighborHOOD Hostel](https://bestofthailand.org/place/bangkok-neighborhood-hostel-59393c)** — ![Bangkok NeighborHOOD Hostel](https://bestofthailand.org/images/pool/cat-hotels-resorts-7.webp) — 5.0 — Hotels & Resorts · Rattanakosin (Old City) — ฿฿฿LGBTQ+ friendly — 73 Trok Fueang Thong is the street address for Bangkok NeighborHOOD Hostel near Wat Ratchabophit, a hostel in Rattanakosin's Old City that is rated 5 by 97 reviewers.

Upper / luxury฿2,400–5,000

MRT Blue Line at Huai Khwang, Thailand Cultural Centre and Sutthisan, with the Orange Line interchange at Thailand Cultural Centre.

Noise 4/5.

The catch: The going-out here is Ratchada's late-night market and its hostess-bar strip, and the MRT stops around midnight — so the way home is a taxi.

Mid-range฿900–1,900

Upper / luxury฿2,500–5,000

BTS On Nut and Phra Khanong on the Sukhumvit line, six stops east of Asok.

Noise 3/5.

The catch: Every temple on a first-timer's list is 40 minutes away by train, and the evening here winds down earlier than it does further west along the same line.

3 hotels listed, 3 rated, averaging 4.2 out of 5

Mid-range฿750–1,600

Upper / luxury฿2,200–4,500

MRT Sutthisan and Huai Khwang are a 10–15 minute walk from most of the district; there is no BTS.

Noise 4/5.

The catch: Din Daeng is where three expressways tie themselves together — the traffic noise is constant and the district's own list of things to do is short.

**[Avani Ratchada Bangkok Hotel](https://bestofthailand.org/place/avani-ratchada-bangkok-hotel-din-daeng)** — ![Avani Ratchada Bangkok Hotel](https://bestofthailand.org/images/pool/cat-hotels-resorts-7.webp) — 4.4 — Hotels & Resorts · Din Daeng — ฿฿฿฿KidsFree Wi-Fi — Ratchadaphisek Rd in Din Daeng houses Avani Ratchada Bangkok Hotel, offering mid-range hotel accommodation for Bangkok travelers, tourists, visiting guests, and business travelers.

MRT Blue Line at Lat Phrao and Phahon Yothin, plus the Yellow Line monorail running south-east along Lat Phrao Road.

Noise 4/5.

The catch: It is a residential district built around a road junction — the food is good and the rooms are cheap, but it is a 35-minute ride to any temple.

BTS Bang Na and Udom Suk on the Sukhumvit line; Suvarnabhumi is about 20 minutes by road on the Burapha Withi expressway.

Noise 3/5.

The catch: Nothing people fly to Bangkok for is within walking distance: this is a district for a BITEC exhibition or an early Suvarnabhumi departure, not for a holiday.

BTS Saphan Taksin sits at Sathorn pier, where the Chao Phraya Express boats and the free hotel shuttle boats depart.

Noise 2/5.

The catch: The hotels are strung along the bank with six-lane roads behind them, so leaving the property usually means a boat or a taxi rather than a walk.

BTS Chong Nonsi and Surasak on the Silom line, MRT Lumphini at the eastern end of Sathorn Road.

Noise 3/5.

The catch: Sathorn is an office district: eight lanes of commuter traffic by day, quiet by 22:00, with the eating and drinking one street over in Silom.

Noise 2/5.

The catch: The cafés and small restaurants people come to Ari for sit on side sois that shut by 22:00, and there is no sight here a first-time visitor would cross the city for.

No BTS and no MRT inside Dusit: buses along Ratchawithi and Samsen roads, or the Chao Phraya Express boat from Thewet pier.

Noise 2/5.

The catch: We track no businesses at all in Dusit yet, and with neither a BTS nor an MRT station in the district every trip out starts with a bus, a boat or a Grab.

BTS Thong Lo and Ekkamai on the Sukhumvit line; the soi itself runs 2 km north of the station.

Noise 3/5.

The catch: Thong Lo soi is 2 km long with no station at the top end, so a good half of the bars and restaurants people book this district for need a motorbike taxi from the BTS.

## How to read the bands

Three tiers per district: hostel / budget, mid-range and upper / luxury, each a range for a mid-week night outside high season. The rates on Booking.com and Agoda themselves are live and change by the day; ours are bands compiled once, on 7 September 2026, and marked indicative for that reason — re-check the actual price on the day you book.

A condo rented for under 30 days is a hotel under section 4 of the Hotel Act B.E. 2547, without the licence to be one — not a workaround worth taking. For a stay of a month or longer, see [real estate](https://bestofthailand.org/real-estate) for agencies and current listings instead.

## Frequently asked questions

**Which Bangkok district has the most hotels listed here?**

Siam (Pathum Wan) holds the most, with 24 of the 124 hotels listed across the 19 districts that have at least one, averaging 4.5 out of 5 among the 24 rated. The count reflects where our imports have gone, not a ranking of the district.

**Which district has the cheapest mid-range hotel band?**

Bang Kapi and Thonburi share the lowest mid-range floor among the 22 districts we profile, at ฿700–1,500 and ฿700–1,600 respectively, compiled 7 September 2026. Both sit well outside the standard sightseeing area, which is the trade for the lower rate.

**What is the difference between Booking.com and Agoda for a Thailand hotel?**

Agoda is Bangkok-based and lists many Thai-only guesthouses and small hotels that Booking.com does not carry, so the two rarely return an identical set of results for the same Bangkok address. Checking both before booking is worth the extra minute.

**Do you take hotel bookings or payments?**

No. The two search links under each district open Booking.com's or Agoda's own search results for that area; we hold no room inventory and take no payment. Book directly with the hotel or through whichever site you use.

**Do the room rates on Booking.com and Agoda include tax?**

As a rule of thumb, checked 7 September 2026: Thai hotel rates on Booking.com and Agoda are usually shown before Thailand's 7% VAT and a hotel's own 10% service charge, unless the listing explicitly says "taxes and charges included". Check the total at the payment step before booking.

## Where these figures come from

The three nightly bands per district are compiled from the sources below, checked 7 September 2026, and treated as indicative rather than a live quote. Hotel names, ratings, review counts and websites come from Google Maps imports (see the build pipeline in the project’s scripts), refreshed periodically — not from Booking.com or Agoda, and not the source of the price bands.

- Booking.com Bangkok city page, checked 7 September 2026City-wide averages of £38 a night for a 3-star room, £72 for a 4-star and £147 for a 5-star — about ฿1,700, ฿3,200 and ฿6,550 at the ECB reference rate of 7 September 2026 (฿1 = £0.02245, 4 September 2026).
- Hostelworld Bangkok listings, checked 7 September 2026Dorm beds advertised from ฿155 (JC Home Stay) to ฿571 (Mad Monkey Bangkok), with the Khao San cluster — Happy Hope ฿250, BED STATION Khaosan ฿440 — sitting in the middle of that range.
- Booking.com Siam district page, checked 7 September 202654 properties inside the Siam district. The ten shown first ran £45.87 (Nine Design Place) to £256.70 (Siam Kempinski), which is ฿2,043 to ฿11,433 at the same ECB rate of ฿1 = £0.02245 (4 September 2026), with Moxy Ratchaprasong at ฿4,125 and Centara Grand at CentralWorld at ฿6,762. The Siam bands are calibrated on this page because our own rows still hold no hotel inside that district.
- Our own hotel rows87 of the hotels in this directory carry the nightly rate Google Maps showed at import time. Converted to baht, the district medians run from ฿658 in Thonburi to ฿2,500 in Thong Lo — the pattern the bands below are calibrated against.
