Phasi Charoen
The inner-west khet either side of Khlong Phasi Charoen, where the BTS Silom line meets the MRT at Bang Wa. Wat Paknam's 69-metre Buddha and its green glass pagoda are why most visitors cross the river for it.
Phaya Thai
Victory Monument's transit hub, boat noodle alley and dense local life.
Phra Khanong & On Nut
Up-and-coming east side neighbourhoods with local markets, craft beer bars and affordable eats.
Prawet & Lat Krabang
South-east Bangkok along Srinagarindra and On Nut roads: Seacon Square, the Nong Bon lake park and the flat sprawl out towards the airport. This is the Suvarnabhumi approach — the Airport Rail Link stops at Lat Krabang, one station from the terminal.

Bangkok's cosmopolitan artery — international dining, nightlife and shopping along the BTS line.
Taling Chan
Canal-side west Bangkok, 10 km from the Grand Palace: the weekend floating market on Khlong Chak Phra, boat-noodle stalls along the water and the Borommaratchachonnani road corridor. No BTS or MRT reaches it — arrive by taxi, bus or boat.
Thawi Watthana
Bangkok's western edge, laid out along Phutthamonthon Sai 1 to Sai 4 and the road out to Salaya. Housing estates, canal-side restaurants and university traffic rather than sights; the nearest rail is the MRT Blue Line's terminus at Lak Song.
