Frequently asked questions
How far is “near a station” on these pages?
800 metres in a straight line from the station coordinate — ten minutes at 80 metres a minute, the pace property listings use. Bangkok rarely lets you walk the direct line, so the real walk runs longer; every station page says so and gives the straight-line distance alongside the minutes.
How many Bangkok stations does this cover?
185 stations in revenue service across 10 lines: BTS Sukhumvit, Silom and Gold, MRT Blue, Purple, Yellow and Pink, the Airport Rail Link, and the SRT Dark Red and Light Red commuter lines. 79 of them have at least one listed place within 800 m and 56 have 3 or more. Lines still under construction — the Purple Line's southern extension, the Orange Line — are left out until they carry passengers.
Why station pages instead of district pages?
Because that is how the question gets asked. A thread about where to stay in Bangkok argues about Asok versus Phrom Phong versus Thong Lo, not about Watthana versus Khlong Toei. Station catchments also cut across district boundaries, so these pages are computed from each listing's coordinates rather than the district column — which for our data is the less reliable of the two.
Where are the coordinates from?
OpenStreetMap, pulled through the Overpass API on 7 September 2026 and cross-checked against Wikidata: 145 of the 185 stations have a Wikidata twin carrying a station code, and the median disagreement between the two sources is 15 metres. The six that differ by more than 300 m are Wikidata rounding errors, listed in the header of src/lib/stations.ts.
