Airport Rail Link keeps running while the State Railway sues its operator
By Cesar RodriguezUpdated
The State Railway of Thailand is suing Asia Era One for 13.3 billion baht, but says Airport Rail Link trains between Suvarnabhumi and Phaya Thai run as normal.

The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) filed a claim at the Central Administrative Court on 21 October 2026 against Asia Era One, the CP Group-led company that runs the Airport Rail Link, and seven guarantors. It seeks 13.335 billion baht: 10.67 billion in a payment for the three-airport high-speed rail rights that was due on 24 October 2021, plus about 2.66 billion in default interest.
The SRT says the case does not affect the train between Suvarnabhumi Airport and Phaya Thai. Asia Era One keeps operating the line until 31 January 2027, and the SRT board has approved its subsidiary, SRT Electrified Train Co, to take over from 1 February 2027.
