Similan Islands and Maya Bay are open again for the Andaman season
By Cesar RodriguezUpdated
The Similans reopened on 15 October and Maya Bay on 1 October; six marine parks sell entry by e-ticket only.

The Similan Islands in Phang Nga reopened on 15 October 2026 after their five-month monsoon closure, and Maya Bay on Ko Phi Phi Le reopened on 1 October, according to the Tourism Authority of Thailand.
Six marine national parks, among them Similan, Surin, Phi Phi, Phang Nga Bay and Ko Lanta, have sold entry by electronic ticket since October 2025: buy before the trip and carry your passport.
October and early November can still bring rough seas, and boat operators cancel when the waves are high, so leave a spare day in the plan. TAT expects the dry season to settle by December, and ferries and island rooms for December and January book up early.
