Visa-free entry proposed for Mexico, Colombia, Uzbekistan and Belarus: nothing changes yet
By Cesar RodriguezUpdated
TAT takes the four-country visa exemption proposal to a committee on 9 November; until it is approved, the current rules for those passports stand.

Thailand's National Tourism Policy Committee met on 31 October and backed a proposal to add Mexico, Colombia, Uzbekistan and Belarus to the list of countries whose citizens can enter without a visa. The Tourism Authority of Thailand is due to put it to the relevant committee on 9 November. Belarus is the new name; the first draft covered the other three.
None of this is in force, and the government spokesperson said no new exemption has taken effect. Mexican, Colombian and Uzbek travellers should still apply for a Thai e-Visa before flying; Belarusians keep the visa on arrival they have had since the 2026 revision. The same meeting reviewed public comments on the proposed 450-baht tourist entry fee, which also remains unapproved.
The committee also asked the Foreign Ministry to speed up e-Visa processing and discussed shorter immigration queues at Suvarnabhumi. Our visa checker will change only when an exemption is published as approved.
