BTS Skytrain extension opens three new stations east of Bang Na
The Sukhumvit line now reaches deeper into Samut Prakan, cutting commute times for tens of thousands of residents.
Bangkok's BTS Skytrain opened three new stations on the eastern Sukhumvit line extension this week. The new stops connect growing residential areas east of Bang Na to the city core, with trains running every four minutes at peak hours. Officials say the extension is expected to serve 80,000 passengers a day within its first year, easing pressure on the parallel expressway. Feeder buses and park-and-ride facilities open alongside the stations.
