The accommodation and meal figures are medians over the 308 of our 609 Bangkok listings that carry a price; transport and ticket prices come from the operators. How much does a week in Bangkok cost for two people?
On our figures, ฿25,589 for seven days — ฿1,828 per person per day — at mid-range: a hotel room at the median of the 56 Bangkok hotels we hold a price for, two street meals and one restaurant meal a day, trains plus one Grab. The same week runs ฿14,024 on the backpacker preset and ฿51,962 on the comfort one. Flights, insurance and visa fees are excluded from all three.
What does a meal cost in Bangkok?
Across the 46 street-food stalls and 59 restaurants we hold a price for, the median street or food-court plate is ฿101 and the median restaurant meal ฿300; the upper quarter of restaurants sits above ฿500, and a coffee at the median of our 70 priced cafés is ฿101. Those are the prices venues and reviewers report to Google, not a survey of our own.
How much should I budget for getting around Bangkok?
฿80 a day covers two BTS or MRT hops and a river boat (BTS runs 17–59 baht by distance, MRT 14–45, the yellow-flag Chao Phraya boat 22–23). ฿200 adds one metered taxi or Grab across town — roughly 80 baht for 10 km on the current meter, plus the 20-baht app-dispatch surcharge. ฿450 is the figure if you take Grab by default. The 20-baht flat rail fare is for Thai nationals only and doesn't apply to visitors.
How much is a hotel room per night in Bangkok?
Of the 87 Bangkok hotels and resorts we list, 56 carry a price: a quarter are at or below ฿627 a night, the median is ฿891, and a quarter are above ฿1,518. We don't list hostels, so a dorm bed sits below the bottom of that range and isn't in these figures.
What is not in this budget?
Flights, travel insurance, visa fees and any medical cost. Nor airport transfers, which depend on which airport and are priced on our airport guide. Two things that catch people out and are worth adding yourself: Thai ATMs charge a foreign-card fee of about ฿220 a withdrawal on top of your own bank's, and a tourist eSIM is a one-off — 449 baht for the 8-day tier.
