Two kinds share the label. Private-room karaoke, rented by the hour with drinks on top, is the family and office-party version, common along Ratchada and inside the malls. The 'karaoke bars' along Ratchada Soi 8, in Sukhumvit's Japanese sois and in the outer districts are hostess venues where the singing is beside the point and the bill grows with the company; ask what a drink costs before ordering, and ask again about anything brought to the table unrequested. Google lists both as 'Karaoke bar', so read the photos and reviews before booking.
- Room rates are per hour per room, typically 300–800 baht for a small room (2026, indicative), with a minimum drink order at some chains.
- A bill dispute is a matter for the tourist police on 1155, not for arguing at the door.
